John C. Duvall (Jack) of Pinehurst, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 surrounded by his loving family, at Quail Haven Long Term Care Facility in Pinehurst.

Jack was born June 25, 1933 in Monroe, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents Curtis and Marie Duvall; brothers Richard and Marvin Duvall.

He is survived by his wife, Irene of 56 years and three children Stephen (Rita) Duvall of Apex, NC, David (Karen) Duvall of Charlotte, NC and Sharon (Ken) Elias of Cranberry Twp., PA; five grandchildren, Ryan (Lauren) Duvall, Daniel Duvall, Jaclyn, Paige and Sophia Elias, along with several nieces and nephews.

Jack was a graduate of Monroe High School in Monroe, MI and attended Eastern Michigan University. He served two years in The United State Army during the Korean War and then went on to have a long and successful career in sales. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Jack and Irene retired to Pinehurst in 1998, where they enjoyed their community, their church, and playing golf.

Jack had an amazing ability to captivate people with his gregarious personality and story-telling skills. He will also be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and his passion for people and his family. He was an avid sports fan, but he especially loved the Michigan Wolverines. He will be greatly missed.

A funeral service will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 300 Dundee Rd. in Pinehurst, NC at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 30, 2019 with a luncheon immediately following.
