Sarah Murphy Means, age 64, of Pinehurst, NC passed away at her home on November 29, 2023.
Sally was born in Norwalk Connecticut, May 7, 1959 to William Thomas Murphy and Martha Elaine Otto. She graduated from Miss Porter’s School, CT) and St. Lawrence University (NY). After college she moved from New Canaan, CT to Minneapolis, MN where she met and married Richard Means in 2000. Together they moved to Pinehurst in 2010. Sally was an avid golfer winning many events. She and Richard enjoyed travelling the world and playing golf in many beautiful places. She was also very involved in the AA community and volunteering for USGA championships.
Sally is survived by her husband, Richard Stanley Means; brother John F. Murphy (Cindy) of Milwaukee; and Jane S. Barton (Richard) of Pinehurst. Sally was preceded in death by her parents and brother Peter O. Murphy.
There will be a Celebration of Life in January.
