Crews respond to Carthage crash

Crews responded to a Carthage crash Thursday.

The two-vehicle crash occurred just before 11:30 a.m. in the 600 block of McReynolds Street. According to officials, a man was driving his SUV heading east when he rear-ended a Ford pickup truck.

The man was evaluated by Moore County EMS and released with no injuries. The driver of the pickup truck was also uninjured.

The SUV had moderate front-end damage, while the pickup bed was smashed.

Both vehicles could move to the side of the road, so traffic was slowed down but not stopped while Carthage Fire and Rescue cleaned up the scene.

Carthage Police Department is investigating the cause of the accident.
