The Pinecrest Varsity Boy’s Baseball team defeated Apex Friendship 11-1 in the first game of the 3-game West Brunswick Beach Diamond Invitational. The tournament, held in Shallotte, is made up of 8 teams from around North Carolina.
Junior, Davis Wilson was the winning pitcher. Matt Heimen came in as relief.
Nik Pry drove in 3 runs, Dax Ingram and Bryce Calcutt each had 2 RBI. Elliott Embler, Zach Pruitt, Pres Ostert and Peyton Grant each drove in 1 run.
With the win, the Patriots move their season record to 13 wins with just one loss. Their next game in the tournament is Tuesday against East Forsyth.
