Physician assistant rejoins Central Carolina Gynecology & Aesthetics

Gwen Siler, PA-C, has rejoined the practice of Paul Heimbecker, MD, at Central Carolina Gynecology and Aesthetics effective Friday, March 15.

Siler worked with Dr. Heimbecker previously from 2009 to 2023 at Advanced Care for Women, providing general gynecology and preventive care and support for women, including colposcopy, menopausal counseling, pregnancy monitoring and birth control. The practice was acquired by Central Carolina Physician Practices in 2023.

Siler has more than 40 years of experiencing as a certified physician assistant in a variety of disciplines. From 1995 to 2008, she worked with William Hall, MD, at his family practice in Sanford. Prior to that, she worked at Duke University Medical Center from 1987 to 1995 with gastroenterologist Michael McLeod, MD. She also worked three years at Bowman Gray School of Medicine in Winston-Salem with Barry Hackshaw, MD. Prior to that, she worked with Robert McConville, MD, currently with Central Carolina Sandhills Family Care, in 1982-83.

Siler received her bachelor of science in biology degree from Wake Forest University in 1975. She received her bachelor of medicine science degree from Mercy College of Detroit in 1977 and is certified as a PA by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

Siler specializes in general female exams, Pap smears, breast exams, menopausal consultations, endometrial biopsies, general biopsies, diagnosis and treatment of vaginitis, diagnosis and treatment of urinary tract infections, hormonal consultations, birth control consultations and sexual dysfunction. She sees adolescents, adults and geriatric patients.
