Norma Jean Wood Whitt, age 90, of Cameron, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, surrounded by her loving family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 9, 202,6 at Pineywood Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Jimmy Calhoun and Pastor Brad Marona officiating. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Norma was born in Randolph County on April 22, 1935, to the late Elmer Harrison and Exie Evans Wood. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank Whitt; sons, Richard Lynn Whitt, Ronald Franklin Whitt; sister, Millie Elizabeth Wood, and brother, Charles Wood.
She is survived by her son, Michael Gene Whitt of Cameron; sister, Mary Wood Gilmore of Sanford; grandchildren, Jane Wilcox, Rhonda Kangas (Brian), Teresa Hearn (James); great-grandchildren, Wesley Andrew Whitt, Lauren Wilcox, and Rebecca Kangas.
Norma loved the Lord and was a lifetime member of Pineywood Baptist Church. She loved her flowers and animals, but most of all, she loved her family. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. Condolences may be sent to www.coxmemorialfuneralhome.com.
