A 57-year-old Pinehurst man is behind bars under a $150,000 bond after he was arrested on 12 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
In a news release, the Pinehurst Police Department said they arrested Jason Townley, of Gingham Lane, on Friday afternoon.
“Our department acted on a cyber-tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to arrest Townley,” said Police Chief Glen Webb. “Pinehurst Police continues to be vigilant and proactive to protect our residents.”
Information from Moore County Detention Center said the alleged crime occurred on Dec. 21, 2020.

The suspect has a May 27 court date and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
