PMC announces new gastroenterology physician assistant

Pinehurst Medical Clinic (PMC) announced Laura Kaufman, PA, to its gastroenterology and endoscopy department at PMC — Heather Glen.

As a board-certified physician assistant, Kaufman holds a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Northeastern University in Boston, M.A., and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Northern State University in Aberdeen, S.D.

Kaufman’s passion to foster a career in the medical field started from a very young age by playing the game Operation. She further explored the joy she found in helping others through medicine by attending PA school. Now, with almost 20 years of experience in the medical field, Kaufman looks forward to combining her years caring on the inpatient side of medicine with the clinic setting the gastroenterology and endoscopy PMC — Heather Glen offers.

As a South Dakota native, the small-town charm of Pinehurst was not lost on her. Outside of caring for patients, Kaufman enjoys spending time with her husband, son and dog in the sunshine, throwing rocks in the stream by their house and going on bike rides.

Kaufman joins the seven physicians and seven advanced practice providers at the Pinehurst Medical Clinic — Heather Glen location to further expand providing a variety of services to those seeking care for abdominal pain, anemia, liver disease, irritable bowel syndrome and more.

Laura Kaufman, PA, is welcoming new gastroenterology and endoscopy patients to PMC — Heather Glen located at 15 Regional Dr., Pinehurst. To schedule an appointment, please call 910.295.9207.
