West Morganton Road will be closed overnight on Monday, Jan. 15, from 7 p.m. until 7 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, between S. Henley Street and Brucewood Road for stormwater mitigation and work on the center median.
NC DOT and the construction company will have detours marked, which will route drivers to 15/501 or U.S. 1 south to the intersection of the two highways in order to facilitate movement during this time. Drivers are encouraged to add extra time if needing to traverse the area.
Morganton Road will be open starting Tuesday, Jan. 16, after 7 a.m.
The construction company and DOT will partially close West Morganton Road in the same area again on Saturday, Jan. 20, and Saturday, Jan. 27 — the center lane in each direction will be cordoned off and closed so work can be completed.
