Emergency crews were paged Tuesday at 7:50 p.m. to a two vehicle accident on U.S. 1 near Aiken Road in Vass.

When crews arrived on the scene, they found a Toyota Camry on the side of the highway that had significant read end damage. The other vehicle, a Buick sedan, was well off the road and had extensive front end damage.

One of the drivers was transported by EMS to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The other driver was uninjured.

The N.C. Highway Patrol responded to the scene and will be investigating the cause of the accident. One lane of U.S. 1 northbound was shut down for a period of time while emergency crews worked.

Responding to the scene were Cypress Pointe Fire & Rescue and Moore County EMS.
