Sheriff: Search leads to arrest after drugs found in Eagle Springs

Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields said in a news advisory that two people were arrested after deputies searched a car and home in Eagle Springs.

“On April 9, 2022, Deputies with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop in the 600 block of NC Highway 211 in the Eagle Springs area,” said Fields. “During the traffic stop, Deputies conducted a search of the vehicle and seized marijuana and items of marijuana paraphernalia.

“As a result of the traffic stop, deputies executed a search warrant in the 500 block of Possum Holler Road in Eagle Springs. As a result of the search, Deputies seized marijuana, cocaine, items of drug paraphernalia, and items of marijuana paraphernalia. The traffic stop and search warrant were executed at the conclusion of a drug investigation.”

Arrested were Julian Celso Valido Hernandez, 32, and Rosa Isela Jaimes, 23, both from Eagles Springs.

Both suspects were each charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, felony possession of marijuana, felony possession of cocaine, two counts of maintaining a vehicle/dwelling place for controlled substances, possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce, two counts of possession of marijuana paraphernalia, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Julian Celso Valido Hernandez was also charged with an additional count of possession of drug paraphernalia, no operator’s license, and expired registration card/tag.

The suspects are due in court on April 21, received $10,000 bonds, and are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
