Alexis Waldo is being recognized as November’s Student-Athlete Spotlight. Alexis is a sophomore at Father Vincent Capodanno High School in Vass and plays basketball and volleyball.
Out of the two sports she plays, Alexis said volleyball is her favorite to play.
When speaking about her greatest sports memory, Alexis shared with Sandhills Sentinel, “It would have to be eighth grade. We went to the championships. We did lose, but it’s one of those ones that doesn’t feel like a loss. It was a really close game, and my team really came together, and we became a lot closer.”
Alexis has a 4.1 GPA and loves math. She plans to study business in college and has dreams to be an entrepreneur. She is undecided about what kind of businesses she wants to own, but she does have a plan. “Once I establish my first business, I want to open up multiple.”
When Alexis isn’t on the court or in the classroom, she enjoys playing with her dog outdoors and spending time with friends and family.
Alexis was nominated by the staff at Father Vincent Capodanno because of her hard work in the classroom and on the court. She uses her talents to represent the school.
