A motorist was taken to the hospital after crashing into a tree near Vass at the intersection of Lobelia and Lakebay roads, according to the Crains Creek Fire Department. The single-vehicle crash occurred at 5 a.m. on Tuesday.
“The driver, who was outside the vehicle, received medical attention from Medic 28,” said Crains Creek Fire Department on its Facebook page. “The driver was subsequently transported by EMS for observation, and the vehicle was secured.”
The Chevrolet Tahoe sustained heavy front-end damage.Â
The fire department did not state why the SUV went off the road. The North Carolina Highway Patrol was on scene investigating the wreck.
