Emergency crews responded to a motor vehicle accident in front of CVS Pharmacy at the intersection of US Hwy 1 and 15-501 Friday Evening around 9:15.

The two-vehicle accident involved a black Kia Minivan and a Papa Johns’ delivery driver in a white Honda sedan.

The Papa Johns’ delivery car had major front-end damage

The Kia Minivan had a pregnant passenger and small child in the vehicle. Aberdeen Fire & Rescue had to call for their rescue truck to use hydraulic tools to open the passenger door. Once opened, they were able to safely remove the injured passenger from the vehicle. EMS transported the pregnant victim to Moore Regional Hospital for further evaluation.

The driver and small child were uninjured as well as the pizza delivery driver of the Honda sedan. 

One lane of US#1 northbound was shut down as emergency crews worked to clear the scene.  Aberdeen Police are investigating the cause of the accident.

Responding to the scene were Aberdeen Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, and Aberdeen Police Department.
