Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields announced the arrest of one individual following a traffic stop in the Eagle Springs area.
On Thursday, detectives with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop for failing to maintain lane control in the 2600 block of Highway 211 in Eagle Springs. During the traffic stop, probable cause was obtained, and a search of the vehicle was conducted, which resulted in the discovery of suspected heroin, methamphetamine, cocaine, amphetamine, marijuana, and multiple items of drug paraphernalia, said Fields in a news advisory.
The driver of the vehicle, Desmond Cheatham, 37, of Aberdeen, was arrested on charges of possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin, possession of heroin, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, felony possession of cocaine, trafficking in methamphetamine by possession, trafficking in methamphetamine by transport, possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, felony possession of schedule II-controlled substance- (amphetamine), possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule II controlled substance- (amphetamine), maintaining a vehicle, dwelling, or place to keep a controlled substance, simple possession of schedule VI controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.
Cheatham was committed to the Moore County Detention Center under no bond (HB813) with a district court date of Aug. 23.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
