Shortly after 1 p.m. Tuesday, authorities were dispatched to an accident at the intersection of Highway 22 and Highway 24/27 outside of Carthage.Â
When arriving on scene, they discovered a pick-up truck in a wooded area up an embankment. The truck was the only vehicle in the accident, and everyone involved managed to get out of the vehicle with no injuries.Â
The truck was heading towards Carthage when it ran off the road hitting a ditch before landing up the embankment.
The exact cause of the accident is under investigation by the State Highway Patrol.Â
Responding to the accident was Carthage Fire and Rescue, Moore County EMS, and the State Highway Patrol.
This is the second accident in seven weeks Sandhills Sentinel has reported at this location.
A driver suffered minor burns after a vehicle caught fire at the end of December.
The single passenger vehicle went off the road into a wooded area and caught on fire.
