Car swerves, flips in Eagle Springs crash

Shortly after 7 p.m. Friday evening, emergency crews responded to a single-vehicle crash after a black four-door Chevrolet rolled into a ditch while attempting to avoid an oncoming vehicle. The crash happened on a stretch of N.C. 211 near Holly Grove School Road in Eagle Springs.

According to the Eagle Springs Fire Department, the driver swerved to miss a car that was attempting to pass in traffic, causing her vehicle to overturn.

The vehicle was trying to pass, and she swerved to miss it and flipped her vehicle,” the Eagle Springs Fire Chief explained to Sandhills Sentinel on scene. “No other vehicles were involved at the time of the accident. She did refuse to be transported but appears to be okay.”

Following the crash, the driver was freed from her vehicle, remained on scene, and appeared to have sustained facial injuries, but declined transport to the hospital. She was the only occupant of the vehicle.

Fire crews temporarily shut down a portion of the southbound lane to manage the scene, though traffic continued moving in the area. The scene was cleared by approximately 7:30 p.m. Shortly after, a wrecker arrived to remove the damaged vehicle from the roadside.

The North Carolina Highway Patrol and Eagle Springs Fire Department both responded to the incident and worked to restore normal traffic flow.
