crash sends one hospital

A two-vehicle crash in Aberdeen sent one person to the hospital Sunday evening. The accident, on U.S. Highway 1 across from Aberdeen Lake, occurred at 8:15 p.m.

The two vehicles in the crash were located in the trees at the corner of South Street and U.S. Highway 1. Both vehicles, a Honda Civic and Toyota Camry, suffered extensive damage.

The driver of the Honda had to be removed from the vehicle by firefighters. She was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries but not thought to be life-threatening.

The two occupants of the Camry did not require transportation to the hospital but were checked out by EMS at the scene.

Aberdeen Police were on the scene and is investigating the cause of the accident.

Responding to the scene were Aberdeen Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, and Aberdeen Police Department.
