United Way of Moore County accepting letters of intent for grants

United Way of Moore County recently announced the official launch of its annual Giving Season, inviting community members, businesses, and partners to join in supporting programs that improve lives and strengthen the community.

“The Giving Season is our most important time of year,” said Linda Pearson, United Way of Moore County President, “second only to when we award grants for local programs. Every contribution helps us create lasting change for families and individuals working hard but struggling to make ends meet.”

In addition to the launch of the Giving Season, United Way is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrea Burton as the new Chair of the United Way Board of Directors. Burton, a longtime leader in education and advocate for United Way, brings a strong record of service and commitment to advancing opportunities for all residents.

“From our youngest to the oldest, United Way programs are benefiting our own community. We are calling on our community to come together and invest in the future of our neighbors by donating today, said Burton.”

“Andrea’s leadership and passion will be invaluable as we continue our mission to build a stronger, healthier, and more resilient community,” added Pearson. “We are excited to have her at the helm of our board.”

United Way of Moore County invites the community to participate in this year’s Giving Season by making a donation, volunteering, or partnering in support of local initiatives.
