Vehicle hits house in three car crash

A house was hit by a vehicle in a three-car crash in Southern Pines Saturday. The accident occurred at the intersection of N. Bennett Street and W. Connecticut Avenue around 6:30 p.m.

The accident occurred when a Kia Optima collided with a Saturn Aura. The impact of the collision sent the Saturn into a yard and slamming into a parked Ford Escape and knocking it into the corner of a house.

No one in the residence was injured. The Kia and Saturn suffered extensive damage. The back of the Ford was crushed against the home.

Emergency crews called for additional ambulances, and a total of three ambulances responded. Four people were transported to Firsthealth Moore Regional. None of the injured had life-threatening injuries.

Traffic at the intersection was completely shut down while emergency crews worked.

Southern Pines Police were on the scene and is investigating the cause of the accident.

Responding to the scene were Southern Pines Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, and Southern Pines Police.
