The winners of Pinehurst’s tenth annual Outdoor Christmas Decorating Contest for historic district residences and downtown businesses have been announced by the Village of Pinehurst Beautification Committee.

Entries were judged by a panel of community leaders, and this years theme was “Olde Towne Christmas”, according to the Village of Pinehurst.

“Each of these residences were exceptionally well presented and exude the Christmas spirit here in Pinehurst,” announced Lorraine Tweed, Chair of the Christmas Decorating Contest, on the Village of Pinehurst’s website. “The winners are to be congratulated for representing the season of Christmas so wonderfully.”

First place for residence category went to Uwe and Lisa Hagedorn on Dundee Road.  Richard and Kathy Newcomb on McLean Road took second place prize, and third place winners were Jeff and Tina Wrona on Linden Road.

The winners were recognized for their outstanding and festive celebration of the season. Each of the winning families received a gift basket of gift certificates and items contributed by local businesses.

For the business category, Carolina Hotel took home first place prize while Drum & Quill won second place. Coming in third place was Remax Prime Realty.

“Our downtown is recognized throughout the year for its beauty and charm, but it truly becomes a magical place during the holidays with all the white lights that adorn the buildings,” said Tweed.  “Judging the downtown businesses is always exceptionally difficult.”
