A West End man has been arrested and charged with multiple felony sex offenses involving juveniles following an investigation by the Southern Pines Police Department.
Police said Robert Adams Jr., 41, was arrested March 13 and charged with two counts of statutory sexual offense with a child by an adult and three counts of indecent liberties with a child.
“On February 13, 2026, the Hoke County Department of Social Services notified the Southern Pines Police Department that Adams was suspected of sexually assaulting two pre-pubescent juveniles in Southern Pines approximately four to five years earlier,” writes the Southern Pines Police Department in a news release. “The investigative process included forensic interviews with the victims as well as an interview with Adams.”
Following the investigation, Adams was taken into custody and appeared before a Moore County magistrate, where he was ordered held without bond at the Moore County Detention Center, authorities said.
Police said Adams is scheduled to make his first court appearance April 1 in Moore County District Court.
The Southern Pines Police Department said the investigation involved assistance from the Moore County District Attorney’s Office, the Hoke County Department of Social Services, the Moore County Department of Social Services and the Child Advocacy Center of North Carolina.
Authorities ask anyone with additional information related to the charges or any unreported incidents involving Robert Louis Adams, Jr., to contact SPPD Investigator J. Arnold at (910) 692-7031 or the SPPD Tip Line at (910) 693-4110 for anonymous reporting.
