The United States Golf Association (USGA) recently opened volunteer registration for the 2nd U.S. Senior Women’s Open Championship at Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club in Southern Pines. The 2019 U.S. Senior Women’s Open, the most prestigious championship for senior women, annually provides the game’s ultimate test to 120 of the finest players in the world while boasting the largest purse in the senior women’s game. It will be conducted May 16-19.

The USGA is seeking approximately 700 volunteers to fill positions on 13 committees, including Marshals, Players Services, Leaderboards and Merchandise. Volunteer assignments for these committees occur on a first-come, first-served basis. Interested volunteers should visit usseniorwomensopen.com and click on the “Volunteers” tab, which also provides comprehensive committee descriptions.

All volunteers will need to purchase the Volunteer Package for $85. This includes one championship golf shirt, one championship jacket, one championship hat or visor, one water bottle and one volunteer credential valid for all seven days of the championship, as well as access to volunteer hospitality with complimentary food, snacks and beverages on the days they volunteer. Each volunteer will be asked to complete four (4) five-to-six hour shifts throughout the duration of the championship.

In addition to the 2nd U.S. Senior Women’s Open, North Carolina will also play host in 2019 to the U.S. Amateur Championship at Pinehurst Resort & Country Club in the Village of Pinehurst, Aug. 12-18, and the U.S. Senior Amateur at Old Chatham Golf Club in Durham, Aug. 24-29.  While volunteer registration is not yet open for these two championships, those interested can fill out an inquiry here.
