Three people were injured after a traffic accident on US Highway 1 in front of Arby’s in Southern Pines Saturday.
A Toyota Tacoma pick-up truck collided with a Honda Odyssey minivan at the Pinehurst Avenue intersection just after 5 p.m.
Two people in the minivan and one person in the truck were transported to Firsthealth Moore Regional with non-life threatening injuries. Due to the number of injuries, a second ambulance also responded. Both vehicles suffered extensive front end damage.
Two people injured in the Honda van were transported to Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
The accident had the southbound lanes of US 1 shutdown. Pinehurst Avenue was also closed at the intersection and traffic was rerouted.
Authorities did not release the cause of the accident. Responding to the scene were Southern Pines Fire & Rescue, Southern Pines Police Department and Moore County EMS.
