Area law enforcement agencies participated in a multi-agency Region 6 Traffic Task Force Checkpoint in Aberdeen Friday night. The checkpoint was set up at the intersection of U.S. 15-501 and Hwy 211.
Aberdeen Police held the checkpoint that resulted in 55 charges. Other agencies participating in the checkpoint were Vass Police Department, Whispering Pines Police Department, Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Laurinburg Police Department, and N.C. ‘Booze it and Lose it’ bus.
The charges consisted of:
1- DWI
6- Possession of marijuana
3- Drug paraphernalia
2- Open container
6- No operator license
8- Expired registrations
1- Failure to register a vehicle
5- Inspection violation
2- Child restraint violation
5- Apprehension for outstanding warrant
16- Driver license revoked
