Aberdeen man charged with assault inflicting serious bodily injury

A 22-year-old man from Aberdeen faces charges of felony assault inflicting serious bodily injury and misdemeanor communicating threats.

Aberdeen Police Department said in a press release that Jadarius Taejuan Jaheem Brown was arrested on Jan. 18. 

“Brown was located with the assistance of the Southern Pines Police Department and was taken before a Moore County Magistrate and reprimanded to the Moore County Detention Center, under no bond,” said the department’s release. “Additional charges were obtained on Brown after a continued and extensive investigation by Aberdeen Investigators and in collaboration with the Moore County District Attorney’s Office, following his initial arrest on December 26, 2023 for Misdemeanor Crime of Domestic Assault and Felony Possession of Firearm by Felon and an additional arrest following a separate incident on January 16, 2024 for Misdemeanor Crime of Domestic Violence.”

Brown is due in court on Feb. 8 and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
