Aberdeen PD announces arrest in identity theft case

The Aberdeen Police Department announced the arrest of Joshua Foushee, 26, of Sanford. On Dec. 23, 2023, the Aberdeen Police Department responded to a business in the area of Highway 15-501 and Turner Street regarding larceny and stolen property offenses. Officers were allegedly given fictitious information on the scene, which prompted a thorough investigation by investigators, according to the Aberdeen Police Department in a news advisory.

Throughout the investigation, which included the review of video surveillance and victim testimony, Foushee was identified as a person of interest, said Aberdeen Police Department. Investigations continued, and attempts were made to locate Foushee, who was also wanted by Lee County Parole. Investigators with the Aberdeen Police Department obtained warrants on Foushee for felony identity theft and concealment of goods.

On March 18, Foushee was located and served with his outstanding warrants. He was taken before a Lee County magistrate and was remanded to the Lee County Detention Center under a $5,000 secured bond for charges out of Aberdeen and no bond for his parole violation out of Lee County.

All suspects and persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
