A two vehicle accident in front of Bob’s Pizza on US 1 sent one person to the hospital with potentially serious injuries. Â The accident occurred when a Cadillac Escalade turned into the path of a Hyundai Elantra that was heading south on US 1 Saturday evening at 6:20. Â The impact of the collision sent the Elantra spinning 180 degrees, and came to rest facing the opposite direction with extensive front end damage. Â The driver of the Elantra suffered potentially serious injuries, and was transported by Moore County EMS. Â The Escalade upon impact slid off the side of the road with its rear passenger tire being sheared off. Â The driver of the Escalade was not transported to the hospital. Â Southbound traffic was merged into one lane and slow going while emergency crews remained on scene. Â Responding to the scene were Cypress Pointe Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, Moore County Sheriff’s Department, and the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
