A two-car accident closed both southbound lanes of US#1 at the intersection with Roseland Road Sunday night around 8:15 pm. Aberdeen Fire & Rescue and Aberdeen Police Department responded to the accident that was between a burgundy Dodge truck and a gray Pontiac Grand Prix.
The Dodge truck suffered front-end damage
Both vehicles had moderate damage with the impact sending the Dodge truck sideways into the median. One person was being evaluated on the scene with injuries thought to be minor.
Law enforcement had to route southbound traffic up Roseland Road to Pinehurst Avenue and out to US#1 while emergency crews worked on the scene.
The pickup truck waiting to be towed
This is the third accident Sandhills Sentinel covered this weekend. A two-vehicle accident happened at 15-501 and Murry Hill Road on Saturday afternoon resulting in minor injuries. On Sunday morning around 1:30 am, a car was fleeing from the police and crashed into trees in the center of the traffic circle. The suspects then fled on foot.
