Committee assignments for the 2021-2022 biennium of the North Carolina House were announced on Monday as the General Assembly returns to work this week. Representative Boles, NC House District 52, has been appointed to serve on the following committees:
Senior Chair: Appropriations, Justice and Public Safety
Vice Chair: Alcoholic Beverage Control
Vice Chair: State Government
Vice Chair: Appropriations
Homeland Security, Military, and Veterans Affairs
Local Government
Transportation
Rules, Calendar, and Operations of the House
“I am excited to be back in Raleigh and to get down to work in these various important committees,” Representative Boles said Monday. “One of my top priorities while serving in Raleigh has been in the area of public safety so I am happy to be serving on several committees where that is a major focus. I am working to ensure the citizens of Moore County their personal security, our community security, and the preparation and safety of those who serve and protect us.”
“Committees in the North Carolina House are well-prepared to get to work addressing the priorities of North Carolinians after a successful decade implementing budget and policy reforms for our state,” Speaker Moore said Monday. “Through these committees, the state House will maintain our record of results that benefit families, help businesses grow, and improve state government services for our citizens.”
Committees will meet at the discretion of the committee chairs to discuss legislation that is germane to their specific policy areas. Committee members will be able to debate bills heard before the committee, propose changes to bill text, and vote on whether legislation should advance out of the committee.
In addition to his committee priorities during this legislative session, Representative Boles is committed to supporting education, healthcare, and the local economy in Moore County during the COVID-19 pandemic.
