The driver of a Honda Civic escaped injury after his car crashed into a drainage pond Wednesday afternoon just outside of Vass.
Emergency units were dispatched to the accident around 5:30 p.m. on U.S. Highway 1 Business at the intersection of Thurlow Lake Road.
When they arrived, they found the vehicle over halfway submerged in a small drainage pond approximately 20-30 feet off the roadway.
The male driver had been traveling north on U.S. 1 Business when he lost control and left the roadway before crashing. He was the only occupant and was able to climb out of the vehicle before emergency personnel arrived.Â
He did not require any medical treatment.
