A driver and two passengers escaped injury in a single-vehicle crash in West End on Thanksgiving afternoon.
A Honda CRV was traveling east on N.C. 73 when it lost control, crashed through a fence and ended up on its side against a tree approximately 40-60 feet off the road.
During the crash, a piece of the wood fence smashed through the windshield, barely missing the driver. The front passenger wheel and shock were also ripped from the vehicle and were found scattered a few feet away with other debris.
All three occupants refused medical treatment.
Highway Patrol was on scene investigating the accident.
Responding to the scene were West End Fire Department, Moore County EMS and N.C. State Highway Patrol.
