Child among passengers unscathed in T-bone collision

A small child and a mother were among four occupants who were left unscathed in a T-bone collision Tuesday night. The two-vehicle accident happened outside Carthage on U.S. Highway 15-501 at the intersection with Brinkley Road around 7:15 p.m.

According to officials on scene, a Nissan Armada was traveling south on U.S. Highway 15-501 out of Carthage when a Kia Sorento, attempting to make a left turn, pulled out from the stop sign on Brinkley Road, failing to yield to the Nissan.

The Nissan slammed into the driver-side of the Kia, leaving both vehicles stopped in the middle of the road with heavy damage.

The driver of the Nissan and her small child were both uninjured in the crash. Both occupants of the Kia were also uninjured.

U.S. Highway 15-501 was down to one lane while crews worked the scene, and the vehicles were removed.

N.C. Highway Patrol was on the scene investigating the crash.

The Carthage Fire Department, Moore County EMS, Moore County Sheriff’s Office, and N.C responded to the scene. Highway Patrol.
