The Moore County Board of Commissioners held its regular meeting on Jan. 9. Below are the released highlights of the meeting.
• Approved on consent agenda: minutes, tax releases/refunds, budget amendments, position classification and pay plan, resolution recommending NCDOT add a road: Century Ln., Airport grant for flight operations counting service, Federal Airport Infrastructure Grant, change order 1 to 2023 waterlines project contract with MBD Consulting, amendment 8 to McGill Associates contract for Vass phase 2 wastewater collection system expansion
•Called five public hearings on Tuesday, Jan. 23 at 5:30 p.m. to receive comments regarding: 1) amendment to the road name and addressing ordinance to add two roads, 2) amendment to UDO Chapter 6, 3) amendment to UDO Chapter 8, 4) amendment to UDO Chapter 10, 5) conventional rezoning request from industrial to highway commercial at 3449 Vass Carthage Rd.
•Called a quasi-judicial hearing on Tuesday, Jan. 23 at 5:30 p.m. for a special use permit request: religious institution 441 Monroe Rd., Cameron
•Approved acceptance of Transportation Reserve Fund Grant for Airport
•Adopted resolution requesting Board of Elections to add propositions to the November ballot for on-premises and off-premises sales of malt beverages and unfortified wine in the Greenwood Township
•Adopted resolution amending the FY24 BOC meeting schedule to reschedule the Tuesday, June 4, regular meeting to Thursday, June 6
