Elmcroft Southern Pines begins vaccinating residents associates

The Moore County Health Department has been notified of confirmed positive COVID-19 test results for four staff members and four residents of Elmcroft of Southern Pines located at 101 Brucewood Road.

In long-term care or congregate living settings, a COVID-19 outbreak is defined as two or more laboratory-confirmed cases.

With Elmcroft now under an outbreak designation, weekly COVID-19 testing of all residents and staff will be conducted until the outbreak is concluded.

An outbreak is considered over if there is no evidence of continued transmission within the facility following a twenty-eight day period.

Bi-weekly testing for nursing home staff was mandated by Secretarial Order #2 beginning August 7.

With the addition of Elmcroft, Moore County’s cumulative total of COVID-19 outbreaks in long-term care is now nine since the pandemic began.

Of the nine total outbreaks Moore County has experienced, three have been declared concluded (Pinehurst Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, Fox Hollow, and Seven Lakes Assisted Living and Memory Care).
