Detectives arrest two in Aberdeen drug search

Two people from Aberdeen are facing several drug charges after a search in the Aberdeen area.

Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields said detectives executed a search warrant in the 100 block of Gaines Street on Friday.

The search led to the seizure of suspected cocaine, fentanyl, heroin, methamphetamine, ecstasy, oxycodone, hydrocodone, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia, said Fields in a statement to Sandhills Sentinel on Monday.

Vincent McRae, 36, was arrested and faces charges of possession with intent to sell and deliver ecstasy, heroin, fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, oxycodone, hydrocodone, and marijuana, trafficking in opium or heroin, and maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for the purpose of controlled substances.

McRae is currently committed to the Moore County Detention Center under a 48-hour hold in accordance with HB813, which took effect last year.

Michael Thomas, 40, is facing charges of possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, felony possession of cocaine, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for the purpose of controlled substances, simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Thomas was given a $10,000 secured bond.

Both suspects are due in court on Nov. 27.
