DOT seeks public input on Midland Road improvements in SP

Project Highlights

The North Carolina Department of Transportation proposes improving Midland Road

from Airport Road to Clark Street in Southern Pines.

Exit 42A

*Exit 42A from U.S. 1 to Midland Road will remain the same.

*Midland Road will be widened and curb and gutter will be added.

San Davis Road and Crestview Road

*Existing U-turns at the intersection of Midland Road with San Davis Road and

Crestview Road will be removed.

*A left turn from Crestview Road onto Midland Road will be added.

N Leak Street

*The intersection of Midland Road and N. Leak Street will include a U-turn area.

*A left turn lane will be added on Midland Road to turn onto N. Leak Street.

Clark Street

*A right turn from Midland Road onto Clark Street is proposed to add a right turn

onto Clark Street form Midland Road and take the existing median out on Midland Road.

Project Comments

NCDOT accepts comments throughout all phases of project development.

All comments will be taken into consideration and carry equal weight, regardless of

the submittal method.
