Driver climbs out of rolled-over pickup truck

A young driver was able to climb out of his pickup truck after it rolled over in a wreck Thursday night. The incident happened on Rose Ridge Road at the Deep Creek bridge near Foxfire around 8:45 p.m.

According to N.C. Highway Patrol, the driver veered off the right shoulder of the road, struck a tree, and rolled over to its side after going up an embankment.

The man was able to exit out of the passenger door before first responders from the West End Fire Department arrived. He refused treatment from paramedics at the scene.
