A driver escaped major harm after losing control of his vehicle and landing at the bottom of an embankment in Robbins Thursday afternoon around 2 p.m.
On scene, authorities told Sandhills Sentinel that the vehicle was traveling northeast on North Moore Road when it went off-road near the curve and went down a steep embankment before coming to rest well below the roadway.
The male driver, the only occupant of the vehicle, was able to climb out of the car and up the embankment on his own. He was taken to the hospital to be checked out for non-life-threatening injuries.
Part of North Moore Road had to be shut down while crews worked to remove the vehicle.
The Robbins Fire Department, Moore County EMS, and the N.C. State Highway Patrol responded to the incident.
