A three-vehicle fender bender slowed the lunchtime traffic in front of Red Bowl Asian Bistro on Highway 15-501 in Southern Pines Friday.
The front vehicle was rear-ended by the middle car, and the middle car was rear-ended by the back car.
The front and rear vehicles were towed from the scene. The middle SUV with a tow hitch eluded any major damage.
One southbound lane was shut down while emergency crews cleared the vehicles to the side of the road. No debris was along the road, and the scene was contained and cleared within 20 minutes.
The Southern Pines Police Department and fire department were on the scene and is investigating the accident.
