A home was destroyed following a housefire in an Aberdeen subdivision on Sunday afternoon. The initial call, which came in shortly before 1 p.m., reported that the deck of the back of a home on Camberly Lane was on fire.
The occupants and their dog were able to safely evacuate the home.
Multiple fire units from across the county responded to the scene and immediately began an attack on the fire. The first fire crews on the scene reported heavy smoke and flames showing at the rear of the home that had spread to the roof.
However, the fire quickly spread throughout the home. By the time the fire was extinguished, the home was a total loss.
The Red Cross was called in to assist the residents of the home.
Responding to the fire were units from Aberdeen Fire & Rescue, Southern Pines Fire & Rescue, Pinebluff Fire & Rescue, Pinehurst Fire Department, Fort Liberty Fire Department, Moore County Fire Marshal, Moore County EMS, and the Aberdeen Police Department.
