Fire destroys woodworking shop in Lobelia

A quiet Friday night in a neighborhood in Lobelia was quickly lit up with flashing lights and wailing sirens of fire engines responding to a structure fire.

The emergency call went out around 9:30 p.m. from a home on North Prince Henry Way in the Sinclair subdivision. A 20 feet by 20 feet woodworking shop in the backyard caught on fire and became engulfed in flames.

Once units arrived on the scene, the fire was quickly extinguished, but the shop had already been severely damaged.

The street was lined with fire trucks, law enforcement vehicles, and medical trucks. Several neighbors were outside watching as crews worked the scene.

There were no injuries reported in the fire.

Moore County Fire Marshal was on the scene investigating the cause of the fire.
