Homeowner detains breaking & entering suspect after observed on camera

An Aberdeen homeowner detained a suspect who was observed on camera breaking into a home on July 31.

Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields said in a news advisory that a 22-year-old was arrested on four charges and placed at the Moore County Detention Center under a $50,000 bond.

Jacob Parsons’ first appearance in court is on August 26. Parsons, of Aberdeen, was charged with one count of felony breaking and entering, one count of felony larceny, one count of felony possession of stolen goods and one count of felony possession of burglary tools.

It’s unclear how the homeowner was able to detain Parsons in the yard until deputies arrived on the scene to take the suspect into custody without incident.

The stolen items were recovered, according to Fields.
