A local man was arrested on drug charges after Moore County Deputies pulled him over for a traffic violation Monday.

When deputies pulled Devine Devante Barrett’s car over in Carthage, they seized 57.8 grams of methamphetamine, two grams of heroin, one gram of marijuana, items of drug paraphernalia, concealed weapon (knife/cleaver) and $212 in cash, said Sheriff Ronnie Fields in a news release.

The sheriff’s department has valued the drugs at over $7,000.

Barrett, 25, of Eagle Springs, was charged with felony possession of schedule I controlled substance-(heroin), possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin, felony possession of methamphetamine, possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, trafficking in methamphetamine by possession, trafficking in methamphetamine by transport, maintain a vehicle for keeping and selling a controlled substance, possess less than ½ ounce of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, possession of a concealed weapon and driving while license revoked.

Information from Moore County Detention Center has Robbins listed as Barrett’s second address.

Barrett was jailed under an $85,000 secured bond, has a March 28 court date, and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
