A 63-year-old man from Vass is facing drug and weapon charges after a search of a home at the conclusion of a drug investigation, said Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields.
“On November 9th, 2021, Deputies with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant in the 100 block of Cummings Place in Vass,” said Fields. “During the search, Deputies located heroin, methamphetamine, (2) firearms, and items of drug paraphernalia.”
James Cummings is being held at the Moore County Detention Center on a $125,000 secured bond and is charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin, possession of heroin, possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a vehicle/dwelling place for controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia, and two counts of possession of a firearm by felon.
The suspect is scheduled to appear in Moore County District Court on Dec. 1 and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
