Man arrested for felony assault by strangulation in domestic violence incident

Aberdeen police officers responded to a home in the Glen Laurel subdivision in reference to a report of an active disturbance on Thursday.

Upon arrival, officers located a man and a woman. Officers investigated the call and determined it was a domestic disturbance, resulting in injuries to the female, said Aberdeen Police Department in a news release.

Based on evidence at the scene and statements, Ryan Domek-Hernandez, 35, of Aberdeen, was arrested for felony assault by strangulation, misdemeanor crime of domestic violence, and injury to personal property, said the release.

Domek-Hernandez was taken before a Moore County magistrate, where he was given no bond, pending a hearing before a judicial official.
