Man charged for intentionally setting fire in Vass

A man was jailed without bond after being arrested for allegedly setting a fire in Vass, according to a news release from Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields.

Fields said the fire occurred on Nov. 18 and involved a structure and a vehicle.

“Sheriff’s investigators and the Moore County Fire Marshal’s Office investigated the fire and determined it had been intentionally set,” said Fields. “One person of interest was identified and was subsequently charged.”

On Nov. 21, sheriff’s investigators arrested Kennith Terry, 35, of Vass. Terry was charged with one count of felony burning of buildings, felony breaking or entering, felony setting fire to woodlands, and burning personal property.

Terry is due in court on Nov. 22 and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
