A man from Raeford has been accused of embezzling from his employer in Aberdeen.
Twenty-nine-year-old Bobby Jefferson was arrested on charges of five counts of felony embezzlement, four counts of felony larceny by an employee, and possession of Schedule VI.
Aberdeen Police Chief Brian Chavis said his department was called Tuesday to a business at U.S. 1 and Saunders Blvd. regarding larceny by an employee and embezzlement. According to arrest records, Jefferson worked at Circle K convenience store and gas station.Â
“Upon arrival, Aberdeen Officers meet with the manager, who reported that Jefferson had been stealing from the business over a 6 day period,” said Chavis in a press release. “Officers began to investigate the allegations and reviewed video surveillance and transaction receipts. Officers were able to confirm that during his shifts, Jefferson conducted 9 separate fraudulent transactions resulting in nearly $1,500.00 worth of loss to the business.”
Jefferson was arrested at the scene, and during a search, suspected marijuana was found on him.
He was placed under a $50,000 secured bond at Moore County Detention Center.
