Pinehurst names Fitzpatrick as Volunteer of the Year

The Village of Pinehurst named Kevin Fitzpatrick the 2024 Champion’s Club Volunteer of the Year. A dedicated member of the Neighborhood Advisory Committee (NAC), Fitzpatrick represents the Pinehurst No. 6 neighborhood and has been recognized for his exceptional service, leadership, and unwavering commitment to improving the Pinehurst community.

Fitzpatrick was officially honored during the Village’s annual volunteer luncheon, held on April 30 at the historic Fair Barn. The event brought together volunteers from across the community to celebrate the spirit of service that defines Pinehurst.

Through his role on the NAC, Fitzpatrick has exemplified the Village of Pinehurst’s core values of Service, Initiative, Teamwork, and Improvement. Whether addressing traffic safety concerns in his neighborhood or enhancing communication between residents and Village leadership, Fitzpatrick has consistently gone above and beyond to serve his community, said the Village in a media release.

“Kevin is a true community advocate,” said Village Manager Doug Willardson. “His proactive leadership, collaborative spirit, and dedication to making Pinehurst a better place for all residents make him an ideal recipient of this award. We are incredibly grateful for his service.”

Fitzpatrick’s efforts to improve neighborhood safety through traffic calming initiatives and his innovative approach to resident communication—such as developing a streamlined digital newsletter—have had a lasting impact on both his neighborhood and the broader community, said the Village. He also played a key role in strengthening collaboration within the NAC and is now contributing to the Pinehurst Development Ordinance update, ensuring that resident voices are meaningfully included in shaping the Village’s future.
