Moore County Schools honored the service of its retiring educators and staff members at a Retirement Banquet held Wednesday at the Village Pine Venue in Carthage. The event was a celebration recognizing the lasting impact these individuals have made on students, schools, and the community.
Moore County Schools honored 64 retirees, representing a combined 1,198.5 years of service to the district. When their service in other school districts is included, their total years of service reach 1,473, reflecting a lifetime of dedication to public education.
“To our retirees, thank you,” said Interim Superintendent Jenny Purvis in a news release. “Your dedication, care, and commitment to our students have made a lasting difference that will continue well beyond your years of service. You have helped shape the success of our district and the lives of so many students and families. We are truly grateful for the time, energy, and heart you have poured into Moore County Schools and public education. I wish each of you the very best in this next chapter, and hope you take great pride in the impact you have made.”
The banquet provided an opportunity for attendees to reflect on cherished memories, share stories, and extend well-wishes as retirees begin their next chapter.
